Memphis Joy Prom

Memphis Joy Prom began 12 years ago when we saw an opportunity to offer a city wide prom to the disability community that celebrated them and offered each participant and volunteer a chance to see the EXTRAVAGANT love of Jesus.

The mission was born.

“To provide an evening that values, celebrates, and honors the disability community so that they might experience the extravagant love of Jesus through the body of Christ”.

Twelve years later, our community has followed suit and there are now multiple proms and dances in our city to experience a night of extravagance and joy!

Over the last few months, the Lord has made it clear that 2025 was our last Memphis Joy Prom.

We believe God is closing this chapter to make way for something new that will directly impact our disability community in a way that continues to glorify God.

We have not come to this decision lightly, we want to always be obedient to the Lord's leading. As our leadership team has prayed and processed through this decision, we are at peace.

Over the next year, we will be prayerfully listening and seeking the Lord's guidance to show us what is next.

We have always said that Memphis Joy Prom is more than a prom, and we still believe that! Made up of different churches, denominations and faith communities, our team treasures the gift of serving alongside each other as one Body of Christ.

We love you and thank you for your continued support of MJP!
